Clinic Owner & Veterinarian
Dr. Michaela Gradinger is the founder and lead veterinarian at Vienna Vet, established in 2013 to bring compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to Dubai’s beloved pets. Born and raised in Vienna, Austria, Michaela fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a clinic where expert treatment, empathy, and teamwork come together—where animals are cared for as if they were family.
She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, where she also began her career. Over the next several years, Michaela gained extensive experience across a variety of settings—from busy emergency clinics like Tierklinik Währing Dr. Hutter & Hutter to Austria’s largest animal shelter, Tierschutzhaus Vösendorf.
In 2004, she moved to Dubai to take on the role of sole veterinarian at Jumeirah Veterinary Clinic, where she provided care for a wide range of pets for nearly a decade. This experience laid the groundwork for Vienna Vet, which she founded to deliver personalized, first-class care for every patient—from hamsters to hounds.
Michaela specializes in small animal veterinary medicine with a tailored approach to every case. Her surgical skills are as diverse as her patient list, including everything from a chameleon’s broken jaw to tumor removals on tiny rodents, and even complex orthopedic procedures like cruciate repairs in aging dogs.
From day one, she made it a priority to support street cat rescue and community animal welfare programs, believing that world-class veterinary care should extend to all animals, not just those with homes.
When she’s not in the clinic, Michaela enjoys time with her two young children—often at the beach. She also fondly remembers her former passions for diving, horseback riding, and camping, which used to keep her energized outside of work.
